Equal parts…

Human-centered designer

I help to shape product cultures that connect people and make technology more human. I do this through the scaling of cross-functional design thinking practices across orgs and teams.

Storyteller

Storytelling is a critical component of every step of the design process. When developed and used purposefully, I’ve found storytelling can contribute to inclusion and connection, building confidence, and bringing about the best kind of change.

Dot connecter

Any great product is the result of lots and lots of small things adding up and combining. My goal is to help organizations and teams look at things systematically. This often means aligning disparate business units and rallying teams to work together to build unifying experiences.

Strategizer

I thrive in highly complex, ambiguous environments. In fact, I’m drawn to them against my better judgement :) Using a combination of design thinking and business strategy when approaching challenges, I leverage human-centered design to drive product and service innovation.

I’m a design strategist, leader, and educator living and working in Seattle.

Currently leading the human-centered design program at Expedia Group. Before that, product and content design at Amazon, Humana, and Allstate.

I have over 15 years of experience designing products that connect great brands with their most passionate users. In this time, I have transformed ecosystems and expanded the role of product and content design within large organizations.

I’m most passionate about tackling big, hairy, ambiguous challenges that allow me to use all parts of my brain and all of the skills that I’ve gained over the years while continuing to learn and add new ones. I use human-centered design and collaboration to create long-term experience strategy and vision that drives more innovative, customer-facing experiences that tie into business goals.

I balance work with lots of family time and renovating my 1950’s fixer upper. What’s left of time, which isn’t much, I can be found fostering pups, learning Spanish, and scouring local estate sales.
